ASDA mobile is a mobile broadband provider that uses the Vodafone network in order to grant customers access to data and mobile services. As such, those who subscribe to ASDA mobile contract can expect to receive the same high speed 3G service that Vodafone is widely known for at a slightly lesser cost in most cases although many of the mobiles that they provide must be purchased upfront.
The company was launched in the UK by the Caudwell Group in April of 2007 and enjoys a presence in 237 shops across the UK. Since it does work from Vodafone coverage it is able to offer at least 2G broadband coverage to almost 99% of the UK and to an additional 200 countries outside the UK which may appeal to travelers.
ASDA mobile is directed exclusively at those who want a non-commitment mobile provider and offers a strict guideline pricing range for all uses associated with mobile service at 8p a minute, 49 a text, and 20p per MB for browsing. Thus, it may not appeal to thus who frequently need to access their mobile but is great for occasional users.
Since it is a prepaid service every phone comes with an unlocked SIM card but there are a limited amount of options.
